Native Ithacan Stuart Lewis has been associated with this office for over 16 years and specializes in commercial sales and leasing. He is married to wife Ruthye, and together they have three grown children and seven grandchildren.

Stuart, or “Stu” as we Ithacans address him, started his professional career in retail, spending 38 years developing several stores in the Ithaca area. Along the way he accumulated several real estate investments leading to his continued interest in commercial real estate. He is responsible for opening five unique specialty-clothing stores on the Ithaca Commons and was integral in helping to design and initiate Ithaca’s pedestrian mall, The Commons. Currently he is very active in downtown development, serving on the Recruitment & Retention Board. In his realtor role he has sold over 10 buildings in the downtown area.

Stu has experience and expertise in several related areas of commercial real estate. He conducts many Opinion of Value on commercial properties, establishes business plans for new entrepreneurs, and does numerous leases and lease negotiations. He serves as the commercial real estate consultant to a large Collegetown Area organization that has direct relations with Cornell University.

Stu belongs to the Ithaca Yacht Club, serves as Commodore of the Royal Pelican Yacht Club in Florida, and is a lifetime member of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce. His favorite hobby is boating, and he also enjoys bird watching, Thai food, jazz, and travel. Every year for the last five years Stu and Ruthye have spent one month touring the Bahamas in their boat. He has also traveled to England, Scotland, Italy, France, Western USA, Central America, and the Caribbean.
