Richard Patterson, a native of the Ithaca area, is a second-generation Realtor. Licensed in 1976, “I was a principal broker of my own office for 26 years and then joined Audrey Edelman & Associates in 2002 to better serve my clients by way of our dynamic market position.” Richard is now general manager of Audrey Edelman RealtyUSA.

Having managed his own office as well as his sales experience in residential, land, commercial, and income properties provides Richard with a well-rounded knowledge of the real estate business. His personal involvement in the field includes remodeling and building many homes in the area, in addition to owning and managing income properties.

Richard has served two terms as President of the Ithaca Board of Realtors. In addition, he has been recognized by his peers four times as “Realtor of the Year,” most recently in 2006 and 2005, and he received the Board’s first “Presidents Award” in 1995.

“Since the Finger Lakes region has so much to offer, I decided not to move away after graduating from Cornell in 1970. I especially enjoy Cayuga Lake and recently acquired a lakefront property through a tax-deferred exchange as an investment in the future.” A snapshot of Richard’s leisure activities would show him tending perennial gardens, cross-country skiing on local trails, or kayaking on the lake.
