John Mercovich has been working in the real estate field for 18 years and holds CRS, ABR, and GRI designations. Prior to his career move, John worked in sales and management in the building materials and hardware industry, and as a school psychologist. John is a graduate of Ohio State University and the University of Dayton.

John came to Ithaca for quality of life, the geographic beauty, and nearby relatives. He enjoys the climate of the Ithaca area and the influences of the colleges. In the past, John has lived in Atlanta, Georgia; Columbus and Dayton, Ohio; and central New Jersey.

In his leisure time, John enjoys downhill and cross-country skiing, bicycling, gardening, hiking and yoga. He is a member of the Tompkins County Chamber of Commerce, Spencer-Van Etten Breakfast Club, and Trinity Lutheran Church.

John has traveled extensively in the United States, and has done some traveling in Canada and Mexico.

John has three sons and three grandchildren. Eric is a graduate of The Culinary Institute at Hyde Park, Keith is also in the restaurant industry in Philadelphia, and Ryan is a student at SUNY Geneseo. Eric and Amy are the proud parents of John's three grandchildren, Celia, Lily, and John.
