Karen was born and raised in Ithaca , giving her the benefit of a broad knowledge of the area.  Before deciding to explore her passion for real estate she worked for 11 years in the veterinary field as a Veterinary Technician and in Veterinary Management.  Most recently, she held the position of Manager of Operations at Ithaca College ’s Student Health Center for seven years.

She has been closely connected with both Cornell University and Ithaca College for many years, earning a Bachelors degree from Cornell University in 1990 and more recently, a Certificate of Completion for Ithaca College ’s nationally recognized Leadership Program.  “I look forward to utilizing the knowledge developed and skills honed during this intensive course to help lead people through their real estate transactions,” Karen says.  “Let my commitment and energy work for you!”

With a lifelong interest in horses and a diverse riding background, Karen has been the Assistant Coach for the Cornell University Men’s and Women’s Polo teams for the past 18 years, and the Head Coach of the local Interscholastic Polo Squads.  Karen and her husband, David, and their daughters Kailey and Emma, all ride and play polo.  In addition, Karen has a strong interest in the community arts, especially the local theaters and school music programs.  Her family has a long history of participation with the Ithaca City School music programs, in which her two children are currently highly active.

Upon completion of every real estate transaction Karen donates to a non-profit organization of her client’s choosing.  Karen is working locally and thinking globally.
